On-demand transport, autonomous vehicles, river and maritime shuttles, cable transport, active mobility solutions… The emergence of new mobility needs calls for new transport solutions offering greater flexibility and adaptability.

These complementary mobility solutions make it possible to:

  • tailor services to actual demand, particularly during off-peak periods,

  • serve less densely populated areas,

  • meet the needs of specific passenger groups and businesses,

  • effectively complement major transport routes.


By connecting residents to transport hubs and providing comprehensive local coverage, these solutions improve access to urban services for everyone and make everyday journeys easier.

Some of our projects

Autonomous shuttles

Autonomous shuttles are attracting interest from cities and businesses, initially for use on closed sites, and we have launched several trials in this field. This type of service could help meet mobility needs that are not currently being addressed – in less densely populated areas, where passenger flows are low, or for first- and last-mile journeys – while paving the way for new forms of mobility services.

In Paris, Saclay, and AlUla (Saudi Arabia), several autonomous shuttle trials have been launched in partnership with local authorities and other local partners. The aim is to gather passenger feedback and collect data on performance, reliability, and operational safety.

River and maritime shuttles

Through its subsidiary RATP Dev, the Group manages and develops integrated, safe, and attractive scheduled river and maritime services.

 

In Toulon, Lorient, and Lyon, RATP Dev operates maritime and river shuttles integrated into existing land-based urban transport networks. These services help improve connections to certain neighbourhoods, facilitate travel, and provide passengers with a pleasant, relaxing journey, notably through the use of innovative fleets such as electric and hydrogen-powered shuttles.

On-demand transport

Connecting passengers to the main transport network during peak periods, replacing lightly used routes during off-peak periods, and providing inclusive, local mobility services in less well-served suburban or rural areas… on-demand transport can meet a wide variety of needs.

By combining on-demand transport with partnerships with taxis and private-hire vehicles, our booking centres can develop cost-effective night services, drawing on geolocation technology and mobile booking services.

In the field of on-demand transport, RATP Cap Île-de-France has developed a personalised transport offering to provide tailored solutions for local authorities, institutions, and businesses.

Cable transport

In Paris, Brest, Lyon, and Haute-Savoie, the Group puts its expertise in cable transport systems – cable cars, urban cable cars, and funiculars – to work every day.


Cable transport is a 100% electric solution for overcoming physical barriers, improving connections to neighbourhoods, and reducing congestion.

Active mobility

RATP Group supports local authorities in developing bicycle and scooter solutions tailored to local needs and designed to complement public transport. These active mobility solutions provide first- and last-mile connections, reduce emissions, and help give streets back to local communities.

The Bonjour RATP app integrates Vélib’ services and, since October 2022, those of Dott and Lime, providing access to 30,000 bicycles. RATP Capital Innovation, the Group’s investment subsidiary, has also acquired a stake in Zenride, the leading provider of bicycle leasing services for businesses. Lastly, RATP Group facilitates access to cycling in several French cities, including Brest and Aix-les-Bains, as well as internationally, including in Casablanca.
