A key player in Île-de-France social housing

RATP Group supports the development of the Île-de-France region. It promotes a vision of the city that is more inclusive and socially diverse. Whether through social or intermediate rental housing, affordable home ownership, or transitional urban planning, the Group’s actions contribute to creating a more balanced urban environment.

High living and housing costs in the Paris region present a major obstacle for prospective RATP employees. This is why providing more housing for employees is a major objective for RATP Group. Nearly 40% of our real estate portfolio is allocated to employees. The Group strives to provide housing for RATP employees in the heart of the city, close to their workplaces, so they can easily commute at times when neither the metro, buses, trams, nor RER trains are running. The result is a better quality of life for employees and their families, as well as a better work-life balance.

By 2027, RATP Group aims to provide housing for 1,200 additional employee families each year and tailor housing support to better meet the unique needs of its workforce.

Logement social

A subsidiary devoted to social housing.

RATP Habitat, an RATP Group subsidiary, was established 65 years ago to provide affordable housing for employees near their workplace. As the Group’s social housing entity, RATP Habitat now builds, renovates, and manages nearly 10,000 rental properties in Île-de-France. These include social housing, residences for young workers, and intermediate rental housing for those whose income makes them ineligible for both social and private housing.

Claire Goudineau, RATP Habitat Managing Director, shares her insights with us, highlighting how this Group subsidiary works to enhance social diversity within the city.
