RATP Group, partner of World Public Transport Day
17 April 2026 will mark World Public Transport Day! Initiated by UITP and its partners, this event is a global celebration of the essential role public transport plays in our daily lives.
From the morning commute to the journey home in the evening, public transport connects us to our loved ones, our work, and to life itself. It gives us the opportunity, the means, and the freedom to move. On 17 April 2026, we will celebrate the very first World Public Transport Day.
Public transport does more than move us physically. It is a bridge to work, to life, and to one another. A springboard to employment, education, and new opportunities. It reduces CO₂ emissions and brings communities closer together. It contributes to the well-being of cities and their residents. It stands for freedom, independence, comfort, and a sense of belonging. And this happens day after day, thanks to human effort.
Behind every journey are the men and women without whom none of this would be possible. Metro drivers, maintenance staff, station staff, site managers, security officers, systems engineers, and many others enable us to travel, day in, day out.
