Claire Goudineau, CEO, RATP Habitat
RATP Habitat is a subsidiary of the RATP Group, created 65 years ago. We build and manage nearly 10,000 social and mid-range housing units in Paris and the inner suburbs. 40% of our housing is occupied by RATP employees and their families.

RATP Habitat has developed very specific expertise in building housing on top of existing RATP sites — for example, apartments above the Barbara metro station in Montrouge, or in the heart of Paris at Vaugirard, above the Line 12 train maintenance workshop.

We are here at the Netter-Debergue site in Paris’ 12th arrondissement. This location is very emblematic of our commitments and expertise. What we have built: 48 social housing units, 43 mid-range housing units, as well as a childcare facility with 100 cribs for the City of Paris. RATP also transferred part of its land to allow the expansion of a public park open to local residents.

For families with modest incomes, it is almost impossible to find housing in Paris and, more generally, in the inner suburbs. Allowing employees and their families to have a home in the heart of the city, close to their workplace, and near nurseries, schools, or shops, truly changes lives. Reducing the commute between home and work also helps achieve a better work-life balance. This greatly contributes to increasing the Group’s attractiveness and retaining its employees.
