Quimperlé Communauté chooses RATP Dev to operate the TBK bus network

The elected officials of Quimperlé Communauté have entrusted RATP Dev, a subsidiary of RATP Group, with the management of the Tro Bro Kemperle (TBK) bus network. This new public service concession will be effective from 4 July 2020 for a period of 8.5 years.

The TBK network serves the 16 towns of Quimperlé Communauté and transports more than 860,000 passengers a year. Currently, it has 4 urban bus routes, 12 inter-municipal routes and 37 school service circuits.

During the lifetime of the contract (2020-2028), RATP Dev will support the development of Quimperlé Communauté and its TBK network, particularly in terms of ecological transition, with the gradual commissioning of new cleaner vehicles, and through investment in the construction of a depot that will support the mobility offer more effectively.

From 2020, RATP Dev will be offering an improved transport offer on the TBK network with:
– A redesigned offer for better service in the Pays de Quimperlé on the urban and inter-municipal network with 16% more passenger-kilometres,
– A boosted offer with better adapted schedules promoting service to the heart of Quimperlé and evening leisure activities,
– An offer enriched with new passenger services and rooted in the daily lives of residents.

RATP Dev’s offer will make it possible to benefit from the experience of a national company to develop the quality and exemplary environmental nature of the region’s public transport network.

Sébastien Miossec
President of Quimperlé Communauté

As of now, RATP Dev teams are fully mobilised to ensure a smooth transition for passengers and employees from 4 July 2020.

For RATP Dev and RATP Group, winning the contract to manage the Quimperlé Communauté TBK network reinforces the positioning strategy on urban area networks in the west of France, where the Group, already established with the La Roche-sur-Yon network since 2011 and the operation of the Rennes bus station since 2012, is also present in Vannes (2017), Lorient (2018) as well as Brest, Angers and Saint-Malo since 2019.

Our offer allows Quimperlé Communauté to take a step forward with the TBK network and to offer residents a more suitable, attractive urban transport service, rooted in the region. We are proud of the coming partnership and we are committed to providing the means and effectively supporting the urban area in its mobility ambitions.
