At the Bourget national air and space museum, RATP Group was delighted to invite a European ministerial delegation on-board two of its EasyMile autonomous shuttles. The delegation was received by Jean-Baptiste Djebbari, the French Transport minister, on the 21 and 22 February 2022 as part of the French Presidency of the European Union Council.
Autonomous shuttles represent a true opportunity regarding mobility solutions; the Group has been working on the project since 2018. Multiple trials have already been carried out under real-life operating conditions in Bois de Vincennes and Saclay, thus allowing for a progressive integration of this new transport mode into the daily life of Île-de-France residents. One of the two shuttles made available for the event had recently completed over 2,000 km on the open road as a transport on demand solution at the Archparc site in Archamps (Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region). Expectations run high for autonomous shuttles as they may bridge the gap regarding the mobility offer in sparsely populated and low traffic areas.
Through its presence in Bourget, RATP Group is confirming its determination to continue developing innovative transport modes, which will create tomorrow’s new mobility solutions.
