RATP Dev and its local partner SUMA will assist the urban area as it carries out its ambitious Urban Mobility Plan (Plan de Déplacements Urbains), which involves doubling the share of the public transport mode by 2030, thus arriving at 40 million passengers as early as 2026. An improved service to attract and retain more passengers The transport DSP (Public Service Delegation) and elected members of the Toulon Provence Méditerranée urban area have chosen RATP Dev, and with it an offer that is in line with regional objectives by progressively increasing by 17% the number of commercial kilometres covered, thus increasing ridership by 54% and supporting intermodality with a 58% frequency increase in stations by 2029. This service will be operated by a safer and greener fleet of vehicles and maritime buses. “Intermodality is transforming mobility habits while promoting smoother, cheaper and more sustainable journeys. It will benefit from the exceptionally innovative region by testing green-hydrogen-powered rolling stock. Thanks to its Environmental Management System, RATP Dev will reduce greenhouse gas production (GHG) by 18%. A committed player for the Toulon Provence urban area and public transport service staff RATP Dev has committed to maintaining the social foundation and taking over all staff, including RMTT employees (Régie Mixte des Transports Toulonnais) and Lignes du Var and Sodetrav services providers, which were taken over by SUMA, RATP Dev’s local partner.
