RATP Dev wins contract to operate and maintain the réseau Mistral network in Toulon

The Toulon Provence Méditerranée urban area has entrusted RATP Group subsidiary RATP Dev with the operation and maintenance of its Réseau Mistral network starting 1 May 2023 and lasting for six years.

RATP Dev and its local partner SUMA will assist the urban area as it carries out its ambitious Urban Mobility Plan (Plan de Déplacements Urbains), which involves doubling the share of the public transport mode by 2030, thus arriving at 40 million passengers as early as 2026.

An improved service to attract and retain more passengers

The transport DSP (Public Service Delegation) and elected members of the Toulon Provence Méditerranée urban area have chosen RATP Dev, and with it an offer that is in line with regional objectives by progressively increasing by 17% the number of commercial kilometres covered, thus increasing ridership by 54% and supporting intermodality with a 58% frequency increase in stations by 2029. This service will be operated by a safer and greener fleet of vehicles and maritime buses.

Intermodality is transforming mobility habits while promoting smoother, cheaper and more sustainable journeys. It is essential to shift habits away from the “everything by car” mindset. The service we have designed for the Toulon Provence Méditerranée urban area is in line with the goal to double the modal share of public transport by 2030 and it will assist residents and visitors as they learn to get about differently by using a high-quality, available, innovative and safe service.
